The site will be used to keep you informed of what's happening in the village and also highlight some of the important developments that could impact on us all. Articles will be published that we feel will be of interest to you and we will help promote other organisations and clubs in the community. We want to be an important voice in the village. We hope that you will enjoy your visit to our site and at the same time learn all about a very forward thinking and dynamic organisation. Everything we do is about stimulating community interest and involvement and in actively safeguarding the quality of life enjoyed by us all, in this wonderful village.

Ilkley Road Safety Group Offers Equipment

The Ilkley Road Safety Committee Equipment to record Data regarding Vehicle speeds in the village will be used for the first time in March. The Society is looking for VOLUNTEERS, especially from Parent Groups to help with the project. Help us to develop a complete picture of Road safety issues in the Village.

Street

Society says resident’s Planning Objections are soundly based

Residents asked the Society to look at proposals to build more houses at “The Street”. After listening to residents and examining plans and the location; the Society concludes that the Plans are unacceptable not only on Safety Grounds, but also because of the impact on Listed Buildings in the location.

Progress already on Plans to measure Speeds

Society Members, The Road Safety Group,  and the Clerk to the Parish Council met Bradford Traffic and Highways Senior Engineer to share thoughts on measuring speeds and options for Low Mill residents to think about.

Front page news last week last week for Cllr Anne Hawkesworth—the first Elected Member to protest about the way that Bradford Planners are handling over 1200 Consultation responses about their UNSOUND PLAN to build Houses in the wrong place.

Plenty of reaction in the Village to the Off License application by the Coop. Seven-day, seven- eleven trading pleases some and shocks others. The Society has been listening, reading and asking District Councillors—“How much of a say does the Village have?”
