Southfield Terrace Blue Plaque and Publication of Catherine Snape’s new book

Blue plaque ceremony 150_211
Saturday the 16th of May saw the unveiling of the village’s 3rd blue plaque. From this small row of terraced houses 30 men went off to serve in the Great War, 7 did not return and it seemed poignant to commemorate this. Over 40 turned up to see Robin Ellis a great nephew of one of the young men who died, perform the ceremony.

Catherine’s book titled: ‘We who served…..Stories of Addingham and the Great War 1914-1918’ is now available. It costs £10 and can be purchased from Amazon or by ringing Steve Lloyd on 01943 830853.
