400 Houses for Addingham --- what happened?

Well the straight answer is “Quite a Lot” else , but absolute silence from Bradford Council.

We understand that there were over 1000 “representations” made about this unsound Plan --- Enough to make BMDC think again.

In November the Localism Act passed into Law, this Act overturned several processes ----looking for locally driven plans.

Who are ---ADDINGHAM GARDEN FRIENDS

The Addingham Garden Friends organisation is made up of a group of volunteers who have worked for about 20 years to help maintain the main public gardens in the village, most of which were created when cottages were demolished in the ‘60s and ’70. Addingham has been entered regularly for Yorkshire in Bloom, and was awarded a Gold Medal in 2011, as a result of which we are entered for the more exacting Britain in Bloom in 2012, competition. The judging will take place in early August.

What’s Addingham doing to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee?

Over the last year a small group of people from a number of local organisations has been hard at work putting together a programme to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in June. The Civic Society agreed to facilitate the setting up of the group and has been actively involved in all its work. We have been able to raise sufficient money from various sources to make the key programme free to everyone and we have a great range of other events that are being organised by local groups and organisations in support of the programme.
